Phillip Mitchell – Something New

Kent Records has just released Something New To Do: The Phillip Mitchell Songbook, a superb 23-track collection of the great songwriter’s material from the period 1970-1977.

Compiled and annotated by Tony Rounce, it includes top ‘modern’ scene faves like Corey Blake’s How Can I Go On Without You and John Edwards’ take on Cold Hearted Woman, as well as Mel & Tim’s cover of Free For All, Garland Green’s You Gotta Come Through Me, Millie Jackson’s Leftovers, Erma Coffee’s You Made Me What I Am, Bobby Womack’s Something For My Head, Bobo Mr Soul’s Hitch Hiking To Heartbreak Road, Candi Staton’s Here I Am Again, Bobby Sheen’s Something New To Do and more.

Mitchell himself makes one appearance as an artist in his own right, singing Little Things.
