Cruise On Up

Headlined by Jeff Lorber Fusion, this year’s Sensation Jazz Cruise – billed as ‘The Ultimate Floating Jazz Party’ – will take place on the river Thames in London on May 31.
The three-hour event is set aboard the Dixie Queen, a luxurious replica Mississippi paddle steamer and London’s largest purpose built party boat. Support acts include American hip-hop producer turned contemporary jazz saxophonist Sam Rucker and local boys London Jazz Trio. The latter will feature a special guest appearance by saxman Joe Leader.
DJs welcoming you aboard at Butler’s Wharf Pier, SE1 will be Dave Marley, a.k.a. “Morpher” [from Jazz Funk Soul Radio] and Rich Edwards [from GFM], both laying down non-stop smooth grooves, soul & jazz-funk classics.
The Dixie Queen departs at 1pm and returns 4pm. Organisers are also offering a range of add-ons. For an additional charge attendees can upgrade their tickets to include a two-course meal with dessert, bar snacks, drinks and access to a fun photo booth. Early bird tickets are on sale now for the price of just £55 per person.
