Written and directed by Ché Walker, the guy who also created Lovesong for soulman Omar, Klook’s Last Stand, is now running at Park Theatre, Clifton Terrace, Finsbury Park, London, N4 3JP until July 6.
Starring Ako Mitchell as Klook and Sheila Atim as Vinette, this two-hander features music by Anoushka Lucas and Omar and tells the story of a drifter who’s gotten too old to drift who runs into a girl on the run who doesn’t know what’s chasing her. Expect soulful music combined with a witty, moving story.
Atim‘s credits include The Lightning Child(Shakespeare’s Globe), Ghost Town(Pilot Theatre Tour). Alongside acting, Sheila is a musician, songwriter and composer.
Mitchell‘s CV includes Fences (Duchess Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Stafford Gatehouse), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Donmar Warehouse), Sister Act (original productionLondon Palladium), The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre), Little Shop Of Horrors (Kilworth House), Dr. Dolittle (UK Tour), The Mystery Plays (Bath Music Festival), Broadway in the Shadows (Luxembourg National Theatre and Arcola Theatre) and Jemima Puddleduck and Other Stories (Unicorn Theatre).
