Soul Man is a new 4CD collection celebrating the most important classic cuts of all time from the kings of soul music. Intended to coincide with Valentine’s Day, it features many of the most credible and influential male artists to grace the music’s history.
The album, of course, takes its name from the classic Sam and Dave hit, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter back in 1967, Soul Man was Sam and Dave’s biggest hit, reaching No.2 on the US Billboard Chart and earning a Grammy.
We have five copies of the comp to give away to Echoes readers. Simply email us at editor@echoesmagazine.co.uk, tell us your name and address and answer this remarkably easy question: What famous soul label did Sam and Dave’s Soul Man originally appear on? You shouldn’t even have to Google that one.
