Currently picking up excellent reviews Raoul Peck’s I Am Not Your Negro, a documentary based on the work of the groundbreaking author James Baldwin, is set for a an extended run at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham, north London.
Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, the film has priceless archive footage of Baldwin discussing racial politics and Civil Rights on American television, and at a Cambridge University debate, as well as his own thought-provoking commentary on the lives of Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King Jnr and Malcolm X.
Screening dates: April 28, May 6, 20, June 23.
