Angela Johnson: All Natural

Angela Johnson‘s new album, Naturally Me, will be released by Dome Records on August 18.
It reportedly “mines the spirit, energy and musicality of songs from the seventies and eighties,” and with the exception of one cover – of Teena Marie’s Déjà Vu – the New Jersey-based singer wrote, arranged and produced every track.
The set sees Angela venture into new territory with a handclapping, rock/soul/gospel instrumental Music’s My Religion, while first single I Promise [M.O.N.E.Y.] features a vocal and acoustic guitar cameo from Raul Midon.
Says Angela: “I’m voicing my opinions about things that I think are wrong in the world today; things that affect my family and community. I really went outside the box with this album. I don’t want to say this is my masterpiece, but if I died tomorrow this would be it: this is the album I’ve longed to make.”
